Polaris hydro power net news: November 7, Tajikistan's Prime Minister Kokil Rasulzoda, China's Ambassador to Tajikistan, Yue Bin, came to the Gravnaya hydropower plant technical improvement construction project, for the first unit ahead of schedule and grid power generation to cut the ribbon to congratulate. Thanks to the Chinese technology to make Gravnaya hydropower station back to life, so that local residents have a "warm winter", but also for the local economic and social development to provide a stable energy conditions.

    Gravnaya hydropower station is located in the southern Tajik Khatlon region, is the Vakhsh river basin on the 9 terraced hydroelectric power station of the 7th level, the maximum height of the dam 51.8 meters, installed 240 MW. 1964 by the former Soviet Union was built and put into operation, so far it has been more than 50 loads of units, electrical, gate, lifting and other equipment, as well as civil construction, monitoring and other facilities have been a large number of deterioration, damage, operation is extremely unstable, the local function failure, the urgent need for a comprehensive technical renovation of the whole. In 2016, the joint venture between Chengdu Institute and 16 Bureau of Hydropower won the bidding of many foreign bidders, and in the face of harsh contract conditions, the team worked closely together, played their respective advantages, and polished the brand of electric construction overseas.

    Tajikistan is an important country along the "Belt and Road" in Central Asia. The scope of technical reform of Gravnaya Hydropower Station mainly includes replacing part of the unit and its auxiliary equipment, replacing part of the main transformer, renovating the bridge in the plant, civil works such as slopes of tailwater and irrigation canals, concrete in the plant and repair of the metal structure, which is planned to be completed in February 2021 for the technical reform. 

    This project is the first hydropower plant technical reform project successfully won by CEC in the whole Central Asia region. Adopting cutting-edge technology, Chengdu Yard tapped the potential of the equipment and runners, fully utilized the hydropower resources, and applied its rich experience in technological renovation and upgrading of electromechanical equipment to create a broad and sustainable market space for a series of subsequent projects.

    Our company is mainly responsible for the renovation of 250t bridge and 2×875kN dam top gantry, 2×1600kN chain opener, 2×300kN tailwater gantry, tailwater 400kN winch as well as cleaner of this hydropower station technical renovation.
