The Bagadela Dam project was completed in 2019, with a total length of 2.55 kilometers and a reservoir capacity of 14.2 million cubic meters, aiming to alleviate the shortage of drinking water in the capital city of Mauritius, Port Louis, and surrounding areas. The project benefits about 20% of Mauritius' area, with a population of nearly 400000, accounting for over 30% of the total population. This project is one of the landmark infrastructure cooperation projects between China and Mauritius, and the largest water conservancy project undertaken by a Chinese funded enterprise in the local area since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The MQ900/30t portal crane for the Bagatelle Dam project in Mauritius was designed, manufactured, installed, guided, and debugged by Hangzhou Jianghe Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd.
